Some carvings aren’t easily explained.  Subjects and visual conceptions don’t always appear until after the chips begin to fly.  Often the wood dictates the direction J.J. takes as he creates a piece.  Many slabs, blocks and sticks, more often than not, have their own ideas of what image hides within.
